In a recent interview with a media agency, former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister and JJP leader Dushyant Chautala made it clear that he would no longer align with the BJP, attributing the decision to a lack of respect and unresolved demands. Chautala, who has been part of the NDA for over four and a half years, expressed that his party supported the alliance for a significant period, yet did not receive the respect they deserved. He stated that the JJP had no major conflicts with the BJP but parted ways due to unmet requests, including an increase in pension to ₹5100 and a fair seat-sharing agreement.

Reflecting on the potential alliance with the INDIA coalition, Chautala mentioned that his party might consider joining if given priority. In response to Chautala’s remarks, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar retorted, questioning who invited Chautala and expressing confidence that the BJP would form the government in Haryana for the third consecutive time under Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s leadership.

Addressing the recent Lok Sabha election defeat, Chautala remained confident, stating that any anger had subsided and that he was willing to apologize for any mistakes, as he considers the 20 million people of Haryana his own. He emphasized that caste-based census should be conducted in India, pointing out that many countries already do so and that accurate population figures are essential for government policies. Chautala recalled his tenure as Haryana’s Minister of Food and Supplies, during which 1.2 million new BPL cards were issued, underscoring the importance of accurate population data.

Chautala also reflected on the challenges faced by his party, including the recent defection of six MLAs. He quoted his grandfather, lamenting that years of friendships were lost due to petty self-interest but remained hopeful that the public would empower him with new support. Chautala reiterated his stance on MSP, stating that he had warned the central government that he would break away if MSP was compromised, a stance he conveyed directly to the Prime Minister during two meetings. Despite this, a movement was launched that targeted him.

As Haryana heads towards assembly elections, Chautala highlighted the differences between issues in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections, criticizing the increase in crime and other issues under the current administration. He remained optimistic about the future, confident that his party would continue to gain strength.
