In a recent Sikh conference held in Karnal, former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik sharply criticised actress Kangana Ranaut, calling for her expulsion from politics. Malik described Ranaut as a “political minor” who is not fit to remain in any political party. He argued that merely apologising for her controversial statements is insufficient; instead, the party she belongs to should expel her.

The conference, which took place at the Gurdwara Sahib of Shaheed Baba Jang Singh Ji, was chaired by Jagdish Singh Jhinda. The main agenda was to discuss the elections for the Gurdwara Committee in Haryana.

During the event, Malik also targeted the BJP government, accusing it of corruption and poor governance. He claimed that under BJP rule, conditions in Jammu and Kashmir have deteriorated significantly, with increased attacks on military personnel. Malik criticised the BJP for failing to address these issues and described the government as “200 percent unsuccessful,” particularly in Delhi and Srinagar.

Malik praised Rahul Gandhi, noting that Gandhi has always shown respect towards him and expressed a desire for voters to support parties other than the BJP.

Additionally, Malik commented on the Modi government, suggesting it only survived due to the support of two parties despite losing support in areas affected by the farmer protests. He also touched upon the Enforcement Directorate (ED) actions against Bhupinder Singh Hooda, suggesting that the ED is often used by the government for political purposes, primarily targeting opposition members.

Malik concluded by emphasising the importance of unity within the Sikh community and their continued support for the nation, while urging them to resist external interference.
