Jay Shah Unanimously Elected ICC Chairman, to Take Office on December 1

In a significant development for international cricket, Jay Shah from India has been elected as the new Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The election was held without any opposition, and Shah is set to officially take on the role starting December 1, 2024.

Currently serving as the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Shah will be stepping down from his position with the BCCI.

The term of the outgoing ICC Chairman, Greg Barclay from New Zealand, will conclude on November 30, 2024. Barclay, who has held the position since 2020, will not seek re-election for a third term.
